STAF
Animal Policy and Service Animal Registration Churches are not bound to follow legal requirements
regarding Service Animals. The following is South Tacoma Adventist
Fellowship’s policy regarding Service Animals and Non-Service
Animals, as we would like to accommodate our members as much as will
not be disruptive to church events and services.
A. Non-Service Animals Will Be Requested To Be
Immediately Removed From STAF. B. Service animals are defined as dogs that are
individually trained to perform tasks for people with disabilities.
We may not ask about the person’s disability, require documentation
or training or ask for a demonstration. We are also not required to
accommodate Service Animals.
If someone requests permission to have a Service
Animal on the premises,
they must register the animal and adhere to our
requirements.
Registration All service animals must be registered with the church.
The church will ask the following two questions:
1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a
disability?
2. What work or task has the dog been trained to
perform?
If the task and need seem necessary and do not seem to
pose a risk of being disruptive to church services or events, we will
register the dog using the Registration form.
Control Service Animals must be harnessed, leashed or tethered,
unless it would interfere with their work or the individual’s
disability prevents using these devices. The individual must always
maintain effective control.
Removal If a service animal has been approved to be on
premises, we will revoke permission if:
1. The dog is out of control and the handler does not
take effective action to control it
2. The dog is not housebroken
3. The owner fails to clean up after the dog
4. The dog or owner is otherwise disruptive
I understand STAF’s policy and agree to its terms:
